My Project
All of these items are needed in any band room to make it function effectively and efficiently. The clothing racks will be used to keep our uniforms fresh and wrinkle-free. The bins, wire rack, and shoe holder will serve to hold percussion equipment. Right now the drumsticks are in cardboard boxes and extra equipment is in a humid, unclean space. Our tambourines and triangles will go in the bins and the drum sticks will go in the pockets of the shoe holder.
Perhaps most importantly, I will acquire necessary accessories, methods books, and instrument supplies to facilitate music learning.
Many of our students need resources available to the to help participate in band class. The money from donor's choose will allow me to acquire the smaller cost materials I need that can easily take up a lot of my budget. With the money I save, I can purchase new instruments, more music, and afford to feed students before I take them on trips to football games and parades.
These students are dedicated to music and their community and deserve to have full access to whatever level of engagement in band they want to have. Removing the cost barrier will be more students can choose to continue playing in band and deepening their connection to music.
