This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

You are guaranteed to leave with a smile after a visit to our room due to the infectious nature of 26 energized kindergartners.

You can't help but smile at their desire to learn and help others throughout the process.

Their small bodies have some of the biggest hearts I have ever encountered and remind me to appreciate the small successes as much as the big accomplishments. This project would help keep them healthy and engaged in their learning throughout the day.

My Project

Children who may not have had experience in an educational setting have difficulty adjusting to sitting in chairs and will sometimes run around the room with all the excess energy, especially at the beginning of the year. The chair bands allow them to use their energy in a safe form.

Having the ability to kick a chair band quietly will aid students who may have anxiety in addition to those who have a need for constant movement.

I currently have one band in the class, and all of my students requested one! The bands will also be shared with other grade level classes.
