The Art of Photography

My Project

The paper-based photographic print holds a special place in the history of photography. At Columbia High School we honor this legacy everyday by creating traditional prints in our school’s darkroom. Printing of another kind is equally essential to our students of digital photography. I am referring to archival inkjet or Giclée printing.

The fine art inkjet printer in this campaign will be the cornerstone of our program’s imagining workflow.

Our students will be able to create prints from digital files that are both archival and neutral in tone. This means that our black & white prints would have no color cast and be true to grayscale. We would be able to enlarge prints from our traditional darkroom as well as output fine art prints from our digital studio. Purchasing this printer would allow our students to truly create exhibition quality photographic artwork.
