This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Alchemist is a beautiful novel that explores the willpower and reward behind following your dreams. This novel will be read with high school freshmen as they enter the PRE-IB program. While reading this novel students will compare this classic fable to fables and mythologies of cultures from around the world. This is part of integrating global awareness into the IB program. Students will be taking my class as high school freshmen to help support their critical thinking, writing and literacy skills. My school predominately supports students from low income families that are Hispanic and black, so any support for their learning and classroom culture is greatly appreciated.
