My students are actively engaged in daily learning which requires more table space than traditional student desks. The students in my class share supplies and work together on a variety of projects. This will help our classroom to build a community and learn to work cooperatively.
The rectangular tables will allow students to spread out and feel comfortable with their surroundings.
The rectangular table will also be used for small-group activities and teacher-led guided reading activities. The table will impact the class learning environment by allowing students to foster better and healthier relationships, improve communication skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, and increase self-esteem.
The tables and desks that we currently have in my classroom do not allow for students to use the space efficiently and use the materials comfortably. Our tables are very small so my students are crowded together which creates cramped environment for them to work in. With these new tables, I am hoping to give them more space to work more efficiently and collaborate more effectively with one another.
