My Students

Philippines, Mexico, India, Iraq, America...our classroom is beautifully diverse! So many students are learning with English as a second language or diverse learning needs. Determined, kind hearted, curious, able...these students are incredibly capable! We are busting at the seems with over a thousand students crammed into ladder closet classrooms and science lab closets. The computer lab and teacher's lounge were also transformed into classrooms. As a result we are limited during space filled and technology for every student.

My Project

Our school is overcrowded and fighting for the opportunity to use technology with our students. The district is working hard to open new schools and meet the growing population of students but in the meantime we don't have enough computers for each classroom. These Chromebooks will allow more daily integration of technology, provide resources on hand for each table group, and the incredible opportunity to bring life experiences and background knowledge to students who may not have had those adventures. With so many English language learners and students with special needs, more opportunities for visuals in the classroom and individualized learning platforms will be a huge help to their continued growth! All subject areas benefit from this technology!
