This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Yokomi is a science and technology magnet school. We are a title 1 school. Located in a high poverty area. Half our student body is from the sorrounding neighborhood. The other half are magnet students. Magnet students come from all areas in our district.

The students in my class are eager enthusiastic learners.

We set high expectations and they always step up to the challenge. Although they face many challenges outside of school at school they overcome those challenges and succeed.

My Project

My class has had a year full of art. We have learned about the elements of art. We have painted still-life paintings and put collages together to create portraits. With that knowledge along with the proper technique we are able to create beautiful art pieces.

We have been in need of some supplies to help with the management of the many art pieces created.

My project consist of a glue pump. That will enable the class to refill glue bottles . It also includes a drying rack. That well give us room to lay our art pieces to dry. Currently it is challenging to find space to lay out 26 art pieces to dry.
