Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With parent conference night coming up, the students have had a lot of time to reflect on their learning so far and figure out what they need to do to succeed in their classes. In my class specifically, students have brought up that their parents sometimes help with math they don't understand. Some families have even reached out to me on how they can best support their students.

My students and I would like to give a big thank you to the parents, guardians, and families that support our classroom by creating cards for them.

To support students who are not familiar with writing letters or non-academic English vocabulary, we will start by using whiteboards to share ideas of words and phrases with each other. The students will then draft and craft their own cards using paper, pencil, their own drawings, images they found online, and so on. The materials you donate to will allow the students to create cards that they wish to create, without having to worry about taking turns to use supplies.
