I remember from my own personal experience that when it was time for me to clean and wrap up my classroom for the end of the school year, several of my students told me that they missed my colorful and lively classroom. They added that my room always makes them feel happy and comfortable. It feels like home.

As a Title I school and teaching kids with a variety of needs, I always make the extra effort to support my students the best possible way I can. I believe that by doing my part to make my classroom more welcoming that even the smallest of changes can make a big difference in classroom environments. The organization and homey decor reflect the living room effect that will help students feel relaxed and be the best that they can in my SPED (Special Education) classroom. Students identified that “comfort” as “most necessary” in the classroom. Decors, boarders, stools, plants, and hanging storage will make our room get comfortable and organized. The items will be used to organize our space as well as for kids to get comfortable using the stools instead of bulky classroom chairs. Additionally, the boards, plants, and decors will make the room more homey.
