This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work at a STEM magnet middle school in Indiana. This means that my students chose to come to our school to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
My seventh and eighth graders come from all around the city to form a community where we focus on our core values of rigor, community, relationships, and drive.
My students come from diverse cultures and experiences, and some overcome significant obstacles to succeed at our school. In their two short years with us, they come in as young pre-teens and develop into teenagers prepared to flourish in high school!
My Project
I am requesting a set of ten $10 Amazon gift cards to use at our middle of the year pep rally! These gift cards will be raffled off for the students who have demonstrated our school characteristics: accountable, responsible, empathy, and motivation. As students get to learn about how our school works, we will teach them about these characteristics and how to demonstrate them. As we see students show us they know how to use these characteristics, we will hand out raffle tickets. At our pep rally as a 7th-grade team, we will pick ten names and award them with these gift cards.
