Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students are glued to their screens all week. They use their Chromebooks 90% of the time, and then there's cell phones. Friday's usually consist of taking quizzes or completing missing work for the week, which of course includes more screens! I would like to incorporate a fun Friday, where students get to practice their communication, reading, or writing skills, in lieu of technology. I work with multi-lingual learners and have incorporated books and materials that will further help them practice their reading and vocabulary skills. With the art supplies, I would ask students to create a card or write a poem that they could give away or display in class.
