This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a public charter school with mainly economically disadvantaged students. We have found this amazing opportunity to take a field trip to Austin, Texas. We are located in Richardson, Texas so it's about a 3 hour drive to Austin.

Many of our students will never have the funds to be able to travel or learn more about our state!

We have held several fundraisers (like pie a teacher in the face!) but sadly, haven't received much money.

4th and 7th grade are both important years to learn Texas History. The students would embark on a hands-on journey where Texas comes alive!

My students would absolutely love the chance to go on this trip with the help from you. Thank you for considering our request.

My Project

Bring Texas history alive with an awesome field trip. What better way to learn about Texas than going to the Texas State Capitol?

With this amazing opportunity, students will tour the State Capitol of Texas, the Texas State Cemetery, and the Bullock Texas State History Museum.

The day is filled with learning about our state government and leaders at the Capitol. At the museum they learn about the history that formed our Lone Star State.

This field trip includes the following for each participant:

Admission to all sites visited, activity guide, snacks, program t-shirt, souvenir, water bottle, and any meal mentioned in the program description.
