This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Educators have long debated the value of testing rewards as incentives! It has been proven that schools who gave the students the right kind of rewards, had an increase in student achievement by as much as six months beyond what would be expected. (Yes, that's a half year's growth in academics!)

Students now-a-days plug into technology on a daily basis.

With their tasks online they receive instant gratification from their performance. Why not provide the same type of "payment" in the classroom. Rewards provide students with an incentive to take tests more seriously.

Finally, the correct testing environment also plays a huge role in assessment outcomes. Students should test in well-lit rooms, at the correct temperature, with the correct equipment. That's were headphones have a gigantic effect. The headphones not only block out sound, but they allow students with disabilities to receive accommodations on their tests. The earpieces should provide comfort since they are worn for a great length of time!
