My Students
I teach science for middle school students. We cover every aspect of science in a middle school setting such as chemistry, biology, environmental science, earth science, and space science. We cover many topics such as global warming, discovering ways to eliminate pollution, and how to provide sustainable ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle in our school. Students participate in the "Go Green Team" efforts to provide ways to recycle, promote water conservation by examining areas of concern in the building such as leaks, and water waste. Students also plant a garden in our commons to provide the school community with a small sample of vegetables promoting health and nutrition. We are striving to help our community by maintaining our building and grounds, participating in school beautification, recycling waste, and greening efforts to promote awareness of local and global issues that affect our world.
My Project
I want my students to have an opportunity to practice typing/writing assessment responses. Our technology is slow and outdated. We need new technology to help students grow in the basic area of writing. Students have to respond to online state assessments and they need to have tablets that can operate with precision and quickness. These devices also need to handle the speed of the internet without freezing during test taking practice questions. These devices will also be used to take actual state test and need to be efficient so that responses won't time out as students attempt to submit responses.
