My third grade students are excited about learning and full of inquisitive ideas. My goal as a teacher is to give them the tools to become successful in their lives.
The school in which I teach is a small tight knit school.
Students attend school here from grades k-8. Most grades only have one class, so I am the only third grade teacher. This small community allows teachers and students to really know each other. I am able to become familiar with students when they enter kindergarten and continue to be involved with them when they leave me.
My Project
My third graders are excited learners. Many of them do not have technology available to them at home. While our school does offer computer labs, my students need computers at their desks in class.
Technology offers a way to create a diverse learning environment in the classroom.
The reading and math program that I will be using this year will offer all materials to my students online. This will allow me to differentiate content to my students.
Students who need approaching, on level, or going beyond content will be able to work at their own rate. Having these eight Chromebooks will allow me to put students in groups where they can be independent while I instruct small groups. Students will be able to complete this independent work, then send it to me. Being able to have small groups in my class will allow my students to have successful learning experiences.
