My fourth grade classroom is a place for students of all backgrounds to come and learn about the world around them. In the year to come students will have a chance to explore all areas of life. Students will learn what it would have been like to live during the time of the gold rush, dive into fractions and how we use them in day to day life, and how technology can be used as a tool to help us better understand the world around us.
Each student in our class is unique and special in their own way and as a class we strive to support one another in these diverse needs through the use of technology.
My students are directly impacted by the world around them and as an educator I aspire to create a place for these students to come, learn and grow. Each one of them has passions, dreams, and aspirations they hope to one day achieve. As their teacher I love to encourage, guide and help them as they become lifelong learners. Having current technology will help to accomplish these goals.
My Project
Technology is a tool that can help even the most struggling of students. In our class we hope to use these Chromebooks to help learners find ways to succeed. In our class this year we have several students who need the help of technology daily so that they may not just meet expectations, but exceed expectations. In a classroom full of a variety of different students, each learner has differences in how they take in and understand information. Some in particular require the use of keyboards and typing tools to help them become better writers and to help motivate them in their strengths. Chromebooks are a tool these students can use to improve their writing through programs such as Google Classroom. Students will be able to take AR tests, which encourage them to read. In addition this will allow students to participate in the new math program, which is almost exclusively online. This will help to prepare them all for the state test at the end of the school year as well as help them understand how to use technology responsibly.
