This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I've always loved math. The way my math teachers explained new concepts and introduced new ideas made me realize that math is fun! Today, I try to get my students to come to that same realization. Math is great! And it's nothing to be afraid of.

I am constantly coming up with ways to make my kids see just how fun and easy math really is.

Every beginning of the school year, I get students who come in saying they hate math or that it's their least favorite subject. But just a couple weeks into the year, their perceptions change. Fun stations, engaging activities, and plenty of opportunities to work with their peers all contribute to their increased love of math.

My hope is that I can continue to find new and exciting ways to make learning fun for my kids.

My Project

Our students love using their Kindles in school. They use them for research, to watch educational videos at their own pace, and to practice many skills during stations. Unfortunately, we have a never-ending battle transporting them from one classroom to another and making sure they are plugged in to charge and ready for use at any moment.

Our two young classroom technicians have to plug in every single Kindle at the beginning of every class, and it takes them quite a while to get to all of them.

They miss important warm-up time while struggling with the charging cables and fumbling around the file folders in the file boxes.

The requested items will help me create a technology cart, which will hold all 71 Kindles. I will be able to attach the power strips to each cart, allowing my technicians to simply plug in two cables instead of a full class set! And transporting them from one classroom to the next will be so much easier! No need to carry bulky file boxes anymore with the risk of dropping them! Thank you for helping me create these carts for my students' Kindles!
