This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are all diagnosed with autism and non-verbal. They benefit from continuous access and exposure to language in a way that appeals to their senses and unique learning styles. Having a second operational iPad with a different language software program would allow all of my students to communicate with each other using software that is tailored to their individual needs.
My students had access to an iPad with a great language software program but unfortunately it stopped working last week.
Thankfully, the software can be transferred to a new iPad therefore assuring that two students would be engaging in greetings, making requests, affirming/denying, commenting and asking and answering questions to each other at all times. Having this technology would provide my students with the auditory, visual, and tactile experiences they need so their language and social skills can continue to flourish.
