Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students who participate in school activities are far more likely to be engaged at school and achieve success.
Sports is a major avenue for students to be involved at school and learn a variety of important skills such as teamwork, perseverance, building friendships, and working towards a goal.
Schools have many gifted athletes who participate in popular sports like football, basketball and soccer. There are many other students who also want to participate but unfortunately they are not at the same skill level as the more gifted athletes.
Tennis is a great entry sport for students who want to be involved but are not as athletically inclined as the top athletes. Most students who try out for tennis have never played before so they are usually all at the same skill level.
As tennis is not the most popular of sports, it does not get the same funding as others. Tennis balls have a short life so we could use your help to keep us in supply!
