The students I service need clay supplies. This is a school that needs to focus on the needs of the struggling academic child. Due to these needs, we have no additional funding to supply the elective classes.
This high school is located in Miami, Florida.
This is an urban school identified as a Title I school. Our needs are great and monetary opportunities limited. My students love to try new things and problem solve in new ways. This clay project in which students create autobiographical clay tiles will give them the opportunity to share their stories visually while working on their writing skills.
My Project
My students need 2 sets of pottery tools, a set of glazes, and clay to create autobiographical clay tiles. Your donations will give these students a greater sense of self-pride by helping them to write and build these wall hangings. This project will allow them to share their similarities and differences. It will allow others to learn not only about other students but other cultures, too!
Currently bullying is a huge problem in our schools.
This project allows the students to learn about different culture, people, and their practices without judgment. It will teach our children that it is OK to be different, look different, and speak differently. This is what makes us all special.
