Teenagers With the Wiggles

Help me give my students rubber bands for their desks. It helps keep their feet busy and their focus more engaged.

My Students

My students are kind, aware, funny, and loving kids. We live in rural Utah and a lot of them are hardworking, farm kids. They study hard. They achieve a lot of incredible growth in a year, despite being in 8th grade. Middle school is always tough and these kids are trying to be so kind to each other.

My Project

These create a bouncy, tension surface for students to put their feet, rather than putting them on their neighbor's desk and being a distraction. These rubber bands fit on the front two legs of a regular school desk. These rubber bands have a direct influence on learning as they increase focus. A couple of teachers at our school have utilized them in their classrooms and rave about how wonderful they are.

My curriculum requires a lot of sustained focus, and these bands will help sustain that focus.

My students are reading and writing daily. They aren't used to having to keep their attention and struggle with a text, but it is a necessary skill. These bands will help them release their wiggles while they are working.
