Teen Readers are Leaders!

My students need books, books, and more books because my school does NOT have a library at all, so the classroom teacher must provide books for the kids.

My Students

Do you like to read? Do you like to have a variety of books to chose from to read? My teens do too but my school does not have a school library. It is up to each individual teacher to provide reading materials for their kids. Please help with the classroom library!

My school is an alternative learning center for students who struggle with learning in a traditional environment.

Up until this year, these 6th, 7th, and 8th graders did not have "a place of their own" but mixed in with the 9th - 12th graders. This changed this school year. My classroom is a newly created classroom for these students so that they may soar and show their true potential. There is a plethora of reasons why a student would be placed with me but the goals remain the same, to help these students become lifelong learners and productive citizens with good character. All of my students are unique and talented with a variety of learning styles and diverse needs. My classroom will be filled with many opportunities for success and this project is only a part of that.

My Project

The school that I teach in does not have a school library. Basically it is up to the teacher to provide reading materials for the students outside the required reading. All these books in this project are written for teens and would be put in my classroom library. My preteens and teens will have access to them at all times. We have a 30 minute silent reading time everyday and I am always looking for more titles for my students. The collections of books in this project are of a wide variety to hit the different personalities and interest of my students.

This project will make such a positive impact on my kids and their learning.

I am sure that you enjoy having a selection of books to choose from when reading. Well so do my kids.
