My students need real world experience using the Love to Care Parenting Simulator. This item takes the cuteness away and focuses on being attentive to the babies needs and not how pretty they look.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach students who attend a large school district. Many are low-income and cannot afford the same opportunities as other students in the wealthier school districts. We have resources at our school, but we are forced to share with other teachers. We are on a first come, first served basis. If I had the necessary supplies, my creative juices would afford these students a more diverse education in my classroom.
The Chinese proverb, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." I want to teach my students valuable information, not just give it to them using books and movie clips. They need to experience life through my teaching so one day they will be able to look back and know someone cared enough to show them, rather than tell them. Experience is a powerful teacher. The lessons learned can be applied throughout this journey we call life.
My Project
Flour Sack and Egg Baby Projects are a thing of the past. It's time for students to experience the ups and downs of being a teen parent. I want my students to understand the true responsibilities of parenting. Waking up at all times of the night to console a crying baby. Having to take your infant with you or not be able to find a babysitter.
Yes the flour sack and egg babies can be cheaper for the masses, but these projects lack the ability to ensure the student is really doing their job as a parent.
I want my students to be inconvenienced and uncomfortable so they will understand Teen Parenting is not cute and easy.
