Teen Maker Space II

Help me give my students equipment and materials to spark innovation, creativity, and learning in the library!

My Project

This project includes supplies for arts and crafts supplies for students with exceptionalities to work with other teens in our school and create several small projects throughout the year, including: acrylic night lights with a vinyl design, Valentine cards, and a dremel for creating jewelry. Pairing students with peers of the same age will build a sense of community and offer all of our students the opportunity to enjoy the library Maker Space.

Our school library has created a MakerSpace for students to create, design, and find materials and equipment to bring their ideas to life.

We want to restock the MakerSpace with equipment and tools to support innovation in engineering design and the arts. We host lunch and learn events for students to learn a new skill from other students, like how to use Canva and our Silhouette to create vinyl designs. GLUE (Gators Learning and Understanding Exceptionalities) is our campus organization that partners students from different backgrounds to build a stronger campus community. Our library is collaborating with GLUE to offer STEAM projects in our Maker Space designed to support our students with exceptionalities.
