This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are entering their teenage years as they progress through middle school. I encourage students to learn about physical, social, and emotional changes through reading books about the changes they will experience. To help guide them through this challenging time, I am creating a health and wellness reading section in the library. This collection will include books about coping skills, mental health, and strategies for becoming a successful athlete.

This project requests resources to create a sports and health book display and reading area.

This space will help students to understand, and empathize with the challenges they will face in adolescence. Additionally, the requested bookshelf and seating will provide a comfortable and inviting space for students to read and engage with one another.
