My students need tablets to fully engage them in their learning experiences! So many of our children are motivated by technology and lose interest in the paper/pencil learning! I want to keep my students engaged!
I don't know how many times I've heard comments like this from a student as I watch the light bulb come on and smiles come across their faces!
I have a sensational group of 25 third graders this year. We are from a low-income community, so most of our supplies come from out of my pocket. I am more than happy to give, but on a teacher's salary, there are just some things that I cannot afford. We are a close-knit family, and we love each other; we love experiencing new things, and we love to learn!
My Project
Our students today are so driven by technology that they often become disengaged when paper/pencil activities are given that they don't truly learn the material. I want to change that by engaging my students with technology!
Students today need to be motivated and engaged to truly learn.
I want to use technology to do this. With access to the world in the palms of our hands, our potential is limitless. We can learn about subjects such as science, history, math, reading, and many more! We can read and test on tablets, take online quizzes that give immediate feedback, and play games that build skills specific to our grade level!
We would truly love to have enough tablets for a center rotation, and maybe one day we could have enough for every student to have one! This would be great for students who finish early and want to grow their skills as well as for students who struggle and need help understanding a subject in a different way! You cannot go wrong when it comes to utilizing technology within the classroom!
