My Project
This project is all about fostering creativity and unleashing the power of imagination! This year, I’m teaching a robotically-enhanced AP Computer Science course where my scholars bring their innovative ideas to life by combining physical technological creations with code that makes them move and interact with their surroundings.
With access to 3D printing technology, my scholars will have the ability to turn their thoughts into tangible prototypes, transforming their ideas into reality.
This year, I’m focused on maximizing the benefits of in-person learning through hands-on projects that inspire curiosity and critical thinking. Scholars will work on projects like designing a functional railroad crossing, building an interactive stoplight, and even creating a metro access card system. Beyond these guided assignments, they’ll tackle multi-week performance tasks of their own design—projects they’ll submit to the College Board as part of their AP coursework. With 3D printers in our classroom, we can streamline the design, prototyping, and testing process—all in one collaborative space.
By integrating 3D printing into our curriculum, I aim to make technology education a transformative experience. These tools will not only enhance my scholars’ understanding of engineering and design but will also create meaningful learning opportunities they can carry with them through high school and beyond.
Join me in making this vision a reality and help my scholars explore the limitless potential of their creativity!
