My Project
Being read to is important to develop language skills, enhance vocabulary, ignites imagination, and develop a LOVE for reading. At this young age the children will be exposed to new ideas and experiences, before they read independently; it lays the foundation for literacy and cognitive development.
A Toniebox will give my students the opportunity to develop critical listening skills, learn new words, and hopefully develop a lifelong love of reading.
Although I read to the class during the day, the Tonieboxes will be readily available to them to utilize throughout the day. This will allow my students my students more opportunities to hear stories read to them. I have chosen Tonie characters that match books we already have in the classroom . This will allow the children to look at specific books while hearing them read.
