My Project

I currently teach Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten at a Title 1 school located in a military housing complex. Our children have come from all over the United States and even some foreign countries.

My students are diverse and amazing kids that are a part of the military community.

The majority of my students have at least one parent (or sometimes both) deployed for months or more at a time. Our school is also a center for Exceptional Military Families (EMF), in which a child or family member has special medical and/or academic needs. Nearly 15% of our student population are children with exceptional needs.

My kindergarten classroom has many kinds of learners who frequently utilize a variety of worksheets, pictures, and visual supports. Since they are beginning learners, having the ability to print items in color for my students, will greatly help them in building their academic language/vocabulary, and with their reading and writing. The headphones will cut out the distractions and allow them to focus all of their attention on the learning they are doing while on computers.
