My Students

My students are fierce! They are passionate about learning and are incredibly engaged in our classroom experience. They want the best for themselves and for our room. They are 4th graders that love learning about nature, history, and science.

These kids deserve access to the best opportunities and learning activities that I can give them, but with limited school resources, and a limited personal budget, I need help accessing high-quality tools.

The students recognize that our classroom has dated tools and technology, which sometimes limits our ability to do our best learning.

My Project

We use our document camera on a daily basis, however, it is over 12 years old. The arm is broken and is literally held in place with a ruler and binder clips. The quality is poor to say the least. Working with such sad equipment does not make students feel like our classroom matters. Why can't we have nice things? They understand that the system is as good as it gets right now and the time we spend trying to adjust it the old camera impacts our ability to learn sometimes.

Math examples about fractions would be so much easier to solve with a new camera that does not short out or go blurry every day.

We need help getting a new camera that allows for clear images and less downtime trying to fix the broken one.
