My Students

Help support my sixth grade students as they explore and learn about how technology can be used to improve their access to resources around the world!

I teach middle school technology classes at a small school in southern California.

My course provides students with an introduction to the use of the computer as a tool to explore knowledge and broaden their scope of learning. My students range in grade level from sixth to eighth, however this request is for my sixth graders. Our school district is only a one school district with just under 1200 students!

My Project

I am requesting a computer for my students to use in our technology class. This course is designed in conjunction with the State of California Instructional and Technology Education Framework and Curriculum Standards. My students develop skills in computer use and applications. They learn about keyboarding, Internet researching, internet safety, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Photoshop, and iMovie. Currently, because of the increase in enrollment, we do not have enough computers for our computer lab, so up to three students have to share one computer. A new computer will help to ensure the quality of the learning environment for my students.

Having the right tools in the students' hands is imperative to their success.
