Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I recently read a quote that said, "Every student can learn, just not on the same day or in the same way." As I approach my seventh year teaching, I've realized that over the years my students have been unique in their backgrounds, learning styles and personalities. However, they all come together to form ONE school community of respectful, responsible, safe and motivated learners. They are able to make many connections to themselves, the world, and academic texts through enrichment opportunities, differentiated instruction techniques, and as a result of a classroom environment that promotes learning.
My Project
Technology affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly, learn. Having iPads in our classroom will help me to connect with students of all learning styles. It also helps students to stay engaged and creates new opportunities. Having these devices will help transform the learning experience of many in our classroom.
I also need the Words Their Way sort books to help my students meet and exceed grade-level standards in reading and spelling.
Our students deserve differentiated instruction, and these sorts will allow me to create rotational groups that will give them the confidence they need during reading and writing.
