Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have two very special 5th grade classes. Some of my students struggle with learning disabilities, autism spectrum, and some don't speak a word of English. Yet, they come to school every day eager to learn and explore new things.
They are wonderful students who need that extra push and motivation to succeed in school.
I want to bring technology alive in my classroom and hopefully develop a love and interest in school and in their future. Students are enthralled with technology and are motivated by it, so I want to make it a part of their daily routine.
My Project
Our school is in the process of becoming a STEM School. Our students would greatly benefit from the use of two Samsung tablets. With the tablets students will be able to access a plethora of online tutorials, educational apps, and programs that will enhance their academic abilities in Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Language Arts.
Students will be able to photograph projects, record data, and conduct research.
Students will be working on several outdoor projects this year that require researching, recording of data, graphing, and charting information. The tablets will facilitate the collection and presentation of the data collected.
The tablets will also facilitate the presentation of projects on the Promethean board, engaging the entire class in the presentation and hopefully, developing a love, and thirst for technology, and education.
