My students are from a small rural area outside of Oklahoma City. They are students that have been identified as have individual special needs ranging from learning disabilities to significant physical and mental needs. These students are eager to learn and acquire skills that will help them be an active member of society. Unfortunately they cannot all learn the same way we expect most students to learn. They sometime need special programs or learning tools.
My Project
During this time of home based learning over the past two years some of my most impacted students have been my students with significant disability. By having an iPad on hand with programs that can specifically target some of their areas of regression we can teaching them how to use these programs and better help prepare them for situations in the future that we might have to learn virtually. The headphones will also help my students to stay focused and participate in classroom activities without distraction from their peers. It is vital that my students at every level of learning be prepared for this new "normal" that we now have.
