This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have been working in the Harlem community for 8 years. Throughout my time here, I have worked in general education classrooms and ICT classrooms, which incorporate general education students and special education students into one classroom. Most of the students in my school come from low-income families, living in surrounding projects or shelters. Often times, my students come to school unprepared with basic materials to learn and now with blended learning, are lacking in adequate technology.
My goal for these students is to provide them with the necessary materials to help them get the best education they deserve!
With your donations, you will be helping my students receive the best education they can get!
My Project
In this day and age, technology is a must in our every day lives. Although many of our students received technological devices to adapt to remote learning in the Spring, our school was left with minimal devices to support our students participating in blended learning for this upcoming year.
During these rough COVID times, teachers and students relied heavily on technology to ensure that students received the same thoughtful instruction that they would in person.
Thankfully, technology has allowed me to stay in close contact with my students from a distance.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
