Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a first grade bilingual educator at a K-5 school. This last school year was a challenging one for many reasons. The pandemic made us transition into the virtual world without the tools necessary to achieve the desired learning outcomes. My students struggled and some of them were not even able to join the remote classroom.
However, my job as a teacher is to foster a classroom of community and learning, either physically or remotely, to help my students acquire their second language acquisition.
My Project
In times of COVID-19 we have learned how to adjust to other types of learning engagements. We all have transitioned to remote learning in order to keep each other safe. Due to this transition, computers have come to be an essential tool in the learning process. We started navigating the multiple uses of Google Classroom and other components.
The Microsoft Surface Pro will help me deliver a better quality instruction during our daily Google Meets, create lessons and videos that will engage them at home.
As of right now, I am using my personal computer. During the video-conferences and instructional times it freezes and it is very difficult to hear my students at time. I have to exit the video calls which is really embarrassing when I rejoin. With this new computer I will be able to have better communication and instructional time. Please help me get this project funded to deliver A+ quality education to my students.
