Technology to Reach a Higher Education

My students need 4 Tablets with Wi-Fi access to conduct research and apply for scholarships. These tablets will allow students help peers find affordable colleges, technical schools, and training after graduation.

My Students

Being a teacher in a rural high poverty/low-income Title 1 school district, I strive for every student to have an equal opportunity in receiving a quality education. It is extremely important to guide all students, many of which have limited access to technology or the internet at home.

I believe that many of my students need the extra attention to receive an opportunity to be successful after high school.

My students are held accountable for their actions, students helping each other. Having tablets to help them research and share are more satisfying because they did it. We preach about sending students out to be role models and pillars in our community, so I believe that we need to find every avenue to continue to help them reach their goals.

My Project

Juniors and Seniors will lead the way in creating a Scholarship Committee. My students are in need of technology to search the web for various types of scholarships for each student's needs and desires. These tablets will allow my students to utilize their learned skills and put them to use to help themselves, as well as their peers.

My students will develop a social media site to help share and connect others with college information, job fairs, deadlines, and much more.

The desire is to assist students that do not have this opportunity at home and to show students how they can provide a positive effect on other's future.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
