Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is composed of 55 fifth graders in a general education class, with students with IEP and ELL learners and special education students such as autism.
A typical day in my classroom looks active.
My students are engaged in learning activities that get them moving, talking to their peers, and asking great questions. You will not see a lot of worksheets in my classroom. My students are learning through hands-on experiences.
I teach in a Title I school.
My fifth-grade students come from very diverse families. I am excited to share that my school is a genuinely diverse community. Not only do students come from varying ethnic backgrounds and places, but the life experiences that they’ve had are incredibly unique. My scholars are creative, thoughtful, and full of excitement!
My students are 9 and 10 year old children that love coming to school. When school was closed in the spring of 2020 due to the pandemic not only were the kids wanting to come back but we missed seeing their smiling faces every day.
My Project
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to teach my students through exciting and innovative techniques that keep them excited to learn more and discover more to life through technology through these unprecedented times.
Help me give my students quality, high-interest online lesson plans made by me with a new Macbook Air.
I am in need of a way to supply my students with accurate and efficient feedback during this difficult time. The Macbook will provide my students with feedback without delay. The Macbook will allow me to create resources for my students and to continue their learning process. My students need efficient feedback on their virtual learning and the Macbook will help in making it stress-free.
I will be able to interact with my students throughout this pandemic like we are still in class.
The Macbook will provide an engaging and meaningful curriculum for my students. At the same time, the Macbook will allow me to be able to keep up with all my students' needs
With a MacBook I will be able to provide my students with quality small group instruction, virtual home visits to enhance teacher-student relationships, and build an online classroom community through whole class Zooms.
Last year I struggled to record videos, hold Zoom sessions, and create content-rich projects because my work computer was unable to support video and recording programs. Having a more powerful computer will help me to be a more effective online teacher by being able to meet with my students more and incorporate various digital programs to support distance learning. Having a strong visual presence online will also help support all of my EL and Special Needs students, who rely on facial expressions and visuals to effectively learn.
