This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is composed of 6 first grade students and 9 second graders. My students are happy, energetic, and highly intelligent! They enjoy hands on activities as well as technology driven ones. Since I teach 2 different grade levels at the same time my students have learned to be flexible and independent. My first grade group are quiet and cooperative workers, but my 2nd grade group which are predominantly male are very competitive. Both groups like to be challenged on a daily basis!
My Project
With a constant focus on technology and immediate feedback, these extra computers will allow my students to interact directly with lessons. Also, Gifted students are encouraged to present projects in different ways, for example using SWAY! We would also like to experience virtual activities with students around the world, this will expose my students to other cultures and experiences that are very limited at this time with only 3 computers for 15 students! The extra technology will allow my students to work on projects independently, or in cooperative groups, while the other grade level receives instruction! Therefore, the new technology will open new avenues of learning in our room!
