This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are first graders, ages 5-7, who are educated in an urban environment. My school is 100% poverty and participate 100% in the Federal Free School Breakfast and Lunch Program. My scholars love our colorful and vibrant classroom and coming to school to learn and succeed.
A high rate of children in my classroom struggle in reading, which can lead to deficits in other subjects.
This drives me to help my scholars close the achievement gap and succeed in all subject areas.
My Project
Students will be using the mini iPads and headphones during literacy centers. My students will benefit from centers that are more technology based. This will help students learn at their own level and provide tools to keep them engaged! Students will use these tablets in their daily center rotations and help them to show what they know.
Students can practice with online curriculum to build their literacy skills and to create final products to help them practice using technology and to relate to the world around them.
They will be problem-solvers, empowered to take the skills and knowledge in their class to improve their learning.
