Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Learning is an exciting adventure that students embark on each day as they set foot into the classroom. Whether they realize it or not, each day the students come through the door and continue on their lifelong journey of educational growth.
Teaching two classes of 4th grade gifted students really keeps you on your toes.
These 45 fourth graders are always yearning to learn more and their hunger for knowledge is extraordinary. I have never met such an inquisitive group of children so happily dedicated to the pursuit of education. Their inquisitive nature makes it a constant challenge to provide them with exceptional and authentic learning opportunities especially ones that include digital literacy.
My Project
Steve Ballmer said "The number one benefit of information technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people be creative. It lets people be productive. It lets people learn things they didn't think they could learn before, and so in a sense it is all about potential." In a world where technology is becoming an increasingly more important aspect of our lives, students needs to be able to have access to technology to enhance their own educational experience and explore their creativity. The students will use these brand new Chromebooks to access district programs that target the students individual learning needs. It allows each student to work independently at the level that they need and challenges them through exciting interactive activities. Along with these programs students will also use the Chromebooks to do research for challenge extension projects that will stimulate them to think creatively and further explore their educational interests.
Your donation will greatly enhance the learning experience of these talented students whose continuous enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge is an inspiration to all those around them.
This technology will allow these 4th graders to use higher level thinking and expand their education through authentic digital literacy experiences as they continue along their journey of self discovery.
