Technology Time Machine: Preparing Them For the Future

My students need access to Chromebook laptops to be able to use during stations. This will allow them to use RAZ-kids and other age appropriate digital software to enhance their learning opportunities.

My Students

I am an international teacher teaching in a Title I school district. My school is based in Fayetteville, North Carolina not far from Fort Bragg the largest military base in the USA. We have a high population of military children in our school. A high proportion of the children in my class have parents currently serving in the US military.

My students are extremely eager to learn and thrive on being given a challenge, they love the use of technology and this is something that I am trying to promote within my classroom.

Seeing them have such an appetite to learn is such a rewarding feeling and I only hope that I can help that increase.

My Project

Children need access to technology in an ever increasing technological world. In my classroom I use various forms of technology to enthuse, inspire, and enhance the children's learning opportunities.

We are preparing children for jobs that do not even exist yet.

Children use technology to connect with others and expand their learning environment beyond the confines of the classroom. Children's engagement increases with the use of technology and this can only be fully achieved when there are adequate quantities of technology equipment.

Being able to provide this equipment for my class would mean the world to them, resulting in their excitement to learn and natural curiosity growing. I aim to use the laptops for them to extend their learning opportunities in Math and Reading. I have been using google classroom to bring my classroom into the digital age and being able to use them during station time for centers.
