Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a group of 21 students who would love the opportunity to use technology on a daily basis to improve their communication and computer processing skills. Many of my students do not have access to computers outside of the school day and will need these skills to be productive in their communities. Over 60% of the students in our school are on free or reduced lunch. Our state assessment scores have started to go up but getting more technology in our students hands can only help this be successful.

My Project

This project would place 5 computers in my room for students to have regular access to for research and digitally publishing their writing and other classroom projects. They would also have a space to be secure and charge so that no one was able to take them from the classroom and that all would be charged and ready for student use each day. Although 5 is just a start, it will allow for my students to have a technology center for at least 15 minutes each a day. That is 15 times more than what they currently have due to the sharing of technology throughput the building.
