Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My sixth graders are low-income, minority students who love to learn and explore the world around them. They attend our Title I school, and the majority qualify for free lunch. Many live in areas that are gang-infested and yet they still manage to walk to school every day to receive an education, and to one day become valuable, contributing members of our society.
They crave creativity and using their imaginations in the classroom as opposed to lecture and note-taking the entire period.
My Project
My students need a new MacBook for the classroom in order to project their work that they create through Google Slides, and in order to submit work such as podcasts.
My current school computer is old and outdated and has begun to show wear and tear.
Sometimes, when I am using my current computer, the screen will freeze and I have to restart the computer. The battery life of my computer runs out faster than expected and I have to keep my computer charging at all times.
This creates a delay in instruction especially when communicating with students via Zoom.
