Many of the students from our rural Maine school are very talented either academically, athletically, and artistically. Many of the students are from low-income families and work hard to balance the demands of school, home, and working their own jobs. They are very passionate about what they are interested in, always ready to share it with the community. Many students have been recognized at the state level.
No matter their circumstances my students don't let anything stop their drive to succeed in any field whether it is academic, athletic, or career-related.
My Project
As the year has gone forward, the library's big, older, circulation desk computer has been working extra hard to support classrooms, distance learning, and Zoom calls. Unfortunately, it is having issues handling the workload, shutting off at random moments while I tutor students, or freezing as I try to sign out material to students.
A new desktop computer will help the library keep pace with all the school's digital needs and students.
Having a smaller computer will free up space on the desk and allow me to use or create digital resources for the students without any worries of work being lost at random moments.
