My students need technology, in the form of tablets, in the classroom in order to reach their reading goals which will make them more successful in the future.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are special individuals with so much potential and very little resources. They come from lower income homes and many with families that speak very little English. They need to be immersed in the language in a positive and engaging environment.
They have very little opportunity to engage in reading activities or hands on technological learning.
It would be such a unique opportunity to build experience with technology as well as improve language skills and a greater love from reading.
My Project
Children use technology daily and it engages their minds like no other tool has before. Having access to technology, with tablets, in the classroom will make them better readers, mathematicians, and more prepared to be successful in our society as it is today.
Most of my students do not have access to technology at home and so this is a wonderful way to teach them how to use it and to get them to be the citizens they need to be now and in the future.
I know how important it is to create good citizens and compassionate people with a true desire to help the world around them as well as themselves. Every opportunity I can give them to become who they were created to be is what I will work to do.
