My students need more technology options in order to engage them. iPads have a friendly interface and a variety of apps my students can use to reinforce and grow their skills.
My second grade critters are splendiferous! They go above and beyond and just like my classroom motto, they are not afraid to make mistakes because that is how you learn! I have high expectations for my students and they always rise to the challenge. My goal is for them to leave second grade both independent with real life problem solving skills, and with confidence in their abilities, both academic and social.
Setting the stage to engage, high expectations, and lots of love are the three cords tying everything in my classroom together.
My Project
Students nowadays use or come in contact with some form of technology at home, at a friends house, or just out and about... shouldn't they have that opportunity in the classroom?
My goal is to bring in many different technology options to our classroom in order to help engage them, reinforce learning taking place, and challenge them to create new ideas.
I would be using the iPads and their cases to help students practice skills on browsers and apps during early finisher activities, including before, and after school. These devices can also be used for review games such as kahoot, or group research and collaboration projects. The headphones will help support students who can not afford to buy new headphones, or happen to lose them, so they can access all of the technology devices in our class personally.
