Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When COVID-19 hit, it forced students into a place of distance learning. They got to use technology but didn't get to understand how to bring that technology together with the social skills. Now they are back in the classroom they are expected to use their technology skills fluidly in their new social classroom environment.

Our school has a 1:1 ratio with technology, but occasionally, technology fails.

When the technology fails the students get stuck and become unproductive. The expectation is that the technology always works but we know that is not the case. Having a couple of back up Chromebooks helps the students continue to be productive and stay engaged in the class. The power strips allow the students to keep their devices charged so they can be productive in all their classes. The label maker will help ensure everything is properly labeled and available for students as they need it. This helps reduce the stress of students who are expected to always have their technology working but fails them. It also makes the class as a whole more productive as there aren't students who can no longer access their Google Classroom programs, especially in the many group and project based assignments. This keeps all students more engaged and working together throughout the entire class much more consistently.
