My students need the TSA club membership fee in order to be eligible to participate at off campus competitions and to receive the competition rules and event directions.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Penn's classroom raised $227

My Students
This year our students are going to Nationals for the Technology Student Association (TSA) organization. This year membership and fees were paid via a one-time scholarship however this year we would need to seek alternative funding. Eliminating this initial costs will help decrease overall costs for running the STEM based club.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds.
This previous school year we had students from various learning abilities and grade levels. Students attend an urban school with a high ratio for free school lunch and special needs. However, when they are involved in our club those which appear to be obstacles for some are no longer a barrier for learning high tech and advanced STEM based activities. Last year they won several awards for our first time competing in this organization. Students are excited about returning for another year while in the process of finishing this school year's events by going to Nationals late June, which has incurred more costs than we had prepared. Thus to prepare ahead we are seeking as many funding sources for expenses as possible to reduce the amount of costs we may incur if we participate in Nationals again. This year we received support for attending Nationals if we won 1,2 or 3rd place at State Competitions. Students are ready to win again!
My Project
Students were ecstatic about winning at our state competition this year and as a result we were eligible to participate at Nationals. However, we are realizing the costs that incur by doing so. Thus, we are starting early at looking at our expenses and seeking several funding sources to help with each of them ahead of time so that as many participate at State as can participate in Nationals. State is usually held in the same city off campus from us but Nationals is out of state.
Our students and myself have received many recognitions and additional STEM opportunities as a result of this project.
In order to continue providing this project opportunity to attend at least a state competition, initial funding for membership is the initial step in addition to being able to have access to the new competitive events.
