My Project

My special education students often struggle with computer-based assignments since the school-provided Chromebooks do not come with a mouse but only a touchpad. It can be very difficult for them to navigate how to move the arrow on their screens with only the touchpad. Providing these students with wireless computer mice would greatly improve their use of technology.

Many students also have speech-to-text as a support, but the headphones provided but the school oftentimes do not pick up the correct sounds they are making since there is only a microphone on the cord and not one close to their mouth.

I am also requesting multi-colored Expo markers. I color-code all work and notes that the students do so that they can have a better understanding of what is being asked of them. Using the different colors for different parts of a math problem or breaking down words or sentences is very beneficial for students.
